In response, a deep-dive into the Melville brand and rich history was in order. Upon gaining knowledge into Melvilles winemaking practices, a discovery occured while learning how these new, one-of-a kind varietals were being executed during the fermenting process.

Chad Melville noted these wines were similar to a "Deep Cut" in a musical artists discography. While the art may retain its core elements, this is a spin off, an electric performance to a once acoustical sound.

Translating this ethos into packaging was a challenge, but with ample room to experiment. An all white, and all black label concept, with only a blind emboss to communicate the artwork, which if examined closeley, is a high-resolution scan of a vinyl record, but skewed to resemble a freshly tilled soil.
